From Rochester, NY—the birthplace of film music and photography—the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester is proud to announce the inaugural Soundtrax Film Music Festival and conference.
Acclaimed artists Leonard Slatkin and Kelly Hall-Tompkins return to Eastman to perform Jeff Beal’s violin concerto “Body in Motion” with the Eastman Philharmonia.
Highlighting some of the performances taking place at Eastman as we kick off our spring 2025 semester!
“Visual Music 7.0″ will also feature the world premiere performance of Rosenthal’s “Vienna: Sweet and Sour,” a 30-minute work for strings and harp performed by the Empire Film and Music Ensemble.
On January 24, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall, “Visual Music 7.0” presents current Beal Institute students in a live-to-picture staging of their original compositions.
